Around Delhi This Month
We’ve had a busy few weeks out and about this month. Here's what we've been up to.
Christmas Collection
Firstly, we’ve been back at the printers – getting our Christmas collection ready! We’ve got a super fun range of Christmas stockings, stuffed fabric decorations and festive wrapping paper in shades of red, evergreen, midnight blue, gold and silver! We’re really excited to reveal it all very soon…
Bhane Social
It was also party time this month, with bhane.’s ice cream social! There were specially created flavours to match the colours of the new season’s clothes – a refreshing pink lemonade represented a coral colour, mustard was an unusual sounding but totally delicous butter popcorn flavour, white came in the form of tender coconut…so tasty! We were too busy eating to get any pictures, but we do have one of the fun mini golf installation by the ever brilliant The Brewhouse
A Weekend in the Village
We also had a weekend in the village, visiting Ma, Maninder’s superstar Grandmother and Chief of pom pom productions! It was lovely to see her and to have a little break from city life…
United Art Fair
Back in Delhi, it was great to see our friend, the famous Hanif Kureshi’s brightly coloured typographic paintings on display at the United Art Fair. Hanif is the man behind Hand Painted type, which preserves the typographic practice of street painters from around India by creating digital fonts of their letterforms. Very cool!
Also on show was ‘Brief Encounters’ – photographer Nishant Shukla‘s series of portraits of passengers he met on train journeys all across India. A while ago a few of the portraits from the series were published in Motherland Magazine, but it was really good to see more of them, and also a beautiful etched wooden map, which traced Nishant’s journey around the country.
