India Covid Relief Fundraiser
Thank you so much for all your support in helping us raise funds to help fight the devastating Covid-19 second wave in India.
From April 29 - May 3rd we donated 100% of profits from online sales and thanks to you, between our businesses in the UK and India, were able to raise a total of £2,408.
From this, £2,100 went to Khalsa Aid who are distributing oxygen concentrators in Delhi, £154 to the Hemkunt Foundation who are distributing oxygen cylinders around Delhi NCR and £154 to Feeding from Far who are working with NGO Prayatna distributing food in Mumbai to those severely affected by the pandemic.
What else can I do to help India?
The situation is still extremely serious, but it has been so heartening to see the response from people wanting to help. In addition to the organisations mentioned above, you can also donate to the following Covid relief fundraisers:
Mission Oxygen India
Distributing oxygen concentrators and cylinders to hospitals in Delhi
FromU2Them
Distributing oxygen, medical supplies and meal kits in Mumbai
The British Asian Trust
Providing oxygen concentrators across India
Artisan Support
Beyond the immediate health crisis, the economic fall out of Covid-19 is already proving to be very hard on many, particularly those who are paid on a daily wage, and artisans who have found their work dried up and orders cancelled.
Since the first lockdown last year, our priority has been to keep our team in Delhi safe, employed and paid. We have been able to do that so far through the continued support of customers around the world.
If you would like to donate to help artisans around India, the Dastkar Artisan Support Fund is helping craft communities with medical supplies, food, wages, procuring materials, training and access to new markets.
We also encourage you to follow Border & Fall on instagram, who are sharing stories of individuals and craft communities.
